Today started off with a big delay. Though I cannot see what God is doing, I trust that He is “Doing” exactly what needs to be done in order for His perfect will to come to pass in my life, and in the lives of those I love. I know that all He does is perfect, and I know that all He does is good; but when the circumstances of life seem to indicate otherwise, I find out just how shallow my trust really is.

When what we long for is yet unseen, we must not waiver for even a moment, but rather, “Wait on the Lord. be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the Lord!” Psalm 27:14.

When answers don’t come as quickly as I would like, I often find myself, like a child, asking annoying questions of God:

But Lord, can’t you see that I’m still here in this wilderness, waiting for the rain, waiting for times of refreshing to come? “Yes Beloved Child, I see all things, and all things are under My control”.

But what should I do while I’m waiting Lord? “Therefore, take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” Ephesians 6:13.

But what should I do when I’m tired of standing Lord? “Lean on Me – I will hold you up” and “Do not grow weary in well doing” II Thess. 3:13

I’m not so good with this waiting thing Lord, sitting still has never been my strong suit. Can You please give me something to do while I wait? Of course Beloved – why not occupy your time with the following:

Praise Me continually – Psalm 34:1

Trust Me with all of your heart – Proverbs 3:3

Rest in Me and wait patiently for Me – Psalm 37:7

Hope in Me – Psalm 38:15

“Wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in His word I do hope.”
Psalm 130:5
